The Problem
While the motorized skates project is on hold due to delayed shipment of materials, we have been working on a motorized bed. The bed will essentially drive like a tank, having two motorized back wheels move the entire bed. If we want to steer the bed, one motorized wheel must go forward while the other motorized wheel either stays slow, goes slower, or moves in the opposite direction. These wheels will be controlled by two joystick potentiometers. This way the speed of the bed can be controlled. The frame of the bed is already constructed, so we just have to create a recess to fit the motors and attach the wheels, and then configure the electronics. Since the project requires the use of more than one motor, we have to use an H-bridge that can connect to multiple motors instead of one. The H-bridge will be used to give the bed the ability to drive in reverse as well as forward.
